Megan's 2013

This year has just gone by in a blur. Seriously, I’m having trouble remembering what was exciting enough to write about. At the beginning of the year, aka the end of last school year, I participated on my schools track and field team. Don’t get confused, I don’t run, I was only there for the field part of the whole thing. I threw the shot put and the discus. I was kind of hesitant at first, but it turned out to be something that I really enjoy. I made it to conference, the big competition between only the few best on each team, and I placed third out of everyone in both events. My farthest throw for discus was 71’ 2” and for shot put it was 28’ 10”.
This summer was also very fun. We went to our family reunion in Silverton Colorado. It was fun to see the whole family. Plus the town was very neat too; we did a ton of activities ranging from scavenger hunts put together by Grandma (thanks Grandma) to four wheeling on really small cliffs! Just laugh all you’re fear out!
A mine tour in CO

I also went to another year of girl’s camp. My favorite parts of that were the canoe trip and our fantastic hike! I participated in many 4-H classes. One of my favorites, again, was photography, for the third year in a row! I entered many pictures to the fair again and every one of my pictures placed. That made me happy! The last thing that I can think of from summer was my pool! I love that thing. Probably my best friend all summer long was that pool, which might be why I spent so much time swimming.
I started 8th grade this September. I have a ton of friends at school, which is good because they help make every class enjoyable. I turned 14 in October, and on my birthday my friends got the whole lunch room singing happy birthday to me. Proves how good of friends they are.
14!  Can you believe it?
Later in October one of my basketball seasons started. It was a high school team and it was a good learning experience and it helped prepare me for the current basketball season. I am now on the Taylorview Middle School basketball team. It just started but I hope we do well!

As a family we have taken many (not as many as I would’ve liked) fun trips. We’ve had the chance to grow closer together which was also a good part of this year.
In line at Disneyland
Overall, I can look back on this year and see it as a success. I hope that next year is as full of excitement as this year was! :)

Georgia's 2013

I have accomplished many things over the past year. One of these things is that I made it to the 7th grade! I did it!
D.A.R.E. Graduation--end of 6th grade

I have also boosted in my writing curriculum. Last trimester I was in regular English now I am in honors. Which leads up to my next accomplishment; I am officially a published writer!  My poem "Rain"is in the book Discovered, "Rain" is on page 49. This is one of the greatest accomplishments I've ever made!

A reward given to my whole family was that we went to Disneyland for the third time, we went  on the 9th of December and returned on the 13th... Well technically the 14th, we got back at 2:37 AM.
Starting our Disneyland adventure

One more thing before I have to leave you, I made it into Young Women's this year ! I have enjoyed several activities and can't wait to enjoy this program.
With all my love,
Georgia Rohde

I'll add a little more about Georgia.  She ended up having an emergency appendectomy right before the end of school last spring.  She was a trooper!  They pulled four teeth that were loose before doing the surgery and the tooth fairy's helpers (doctors and nurses) gave her $7!

Girls Camp Skit

She went to girls camp this summer and seemed to have a ton of fun.  She is playing basketball.  She loves singing in her school choir and has gotten to sing in a duet and trio at her last two concerts.  She was a "princess" for Halloween.

Reese's 2013

This last year I started 4th grade.  My teacher says I’m really smart and I can learn up to 7th grade math.  When I finish my work at school my teacher asks me to help other kids who are having a hard time.

I played arena flag football in the spring. (In orange on the far right)  My coach made me the center most of the time because he said I could snap the ball well.  I was also a receiver and sometimes quarterback, but that was only on special plays.  I scored a few touchdowns.  I played soccer in the fall.  I had the same coach that I’ve had before.  I scored a lot of goals.  My team was really good—we only lost once and we tied once. (Sorry, we couldn't find any pictures) I am now in basketball season.  Games will start in January.
I became a bear in cub scouts and my leaders are fun.

I turned 9 in March and will turn 10 in less than four months.  I like being in primary and wearing my suit and bow-tie.  I was James Bond for Halloween.

Isaac's 2013

I got baptized on December 7th

I am in second grade.  I played flag football, indoor and outdoor.  I made A LOT of touchdowns.  I played running back, wide receiver, safety, and sometimes assistant quarterback.  I liked to pull flags and got good at it.

My mom and my teacher say that I’m obsessed with football.  I like to ride bikes with my friends.  I like to play video games—Ghost Recon and Madden Football, Racing and Minecraft.
I danced in the school talent show to Skrillex’s Rock ‘n Roll.

I played basketball last winter and I’m on a new team now.   I was Robin (from Batman) for Halloween.

My mom says to tell you that I’m an excellent reader.
