Bouquet Toss Reenactment

I had the privilege of attending a sealing yesterday of a young woman who I was an advisor for a few years ago. I also love her family and her mom's one of my great friends. It was a perfect time to reflect on my own wedding day and the sealing ordinance that took place there for Ken and I.

All day long my girls bugged me about helping them catch the bouquet at the reception. I kept insisting that I would not be involved in the contest, being a married woman. They were bound and determined to catch that bouquet though. We were at nearly the whole reception waiting for it to happen. The poor couple wasn't even able to do it until after the "official" reception ending time was long passed. My girls refused to let us leave until she'd done it.

Being competitive like their mother, Kaitlin and Megan did end up with the flowers, much to the chagrin of the 4 or 5 eligible college age girls there. Actually, Kaitlin ended up with the bouquet and Megan with stems in the eye, but Kaitlin was nice and shared.

They thought the experience was so funny (after Megan stopped being upset) they wanted to reenact it for the camera.

Funny. Where did you find the new background for your blog? It's nice.--shannon
